I had been running for a while as a means of keeping fit just as a means of keeping active and staying in shape. I had run marathons when I was a teenager but really struggled with motivation as I found it much easier to stay at home when I got in from work, rather than going straight on the road running.
I decided I wanted to do something very meaningful and something for charity and this I decided was the Brighton marathon, as I knew this was the challenged that i really needed to do to get me motivated and keep me focused, I got in touch with Coach Martin Gooden as I seen his stuff on the internet, and liked what i had seen.
I found martin’s style very easy to work with, and I found the sessions very challenging, but I could see that the programming was making me not only fitter but also my leg muscles and upper body muscles where getting much stronger, but also my body could deal with the demands a lot easier. I found martin’s knowledge on nutrition was what really helped me to, as I was the wrong type of foods for the type of training i was doing and hydration information which I know is very vital for the distance of which i was running
Coach Martin Gooden helped me with the weekly out of session schedules, which also included how many miles to run right up until the marathon, stretches to be done, and other things that could affect my running result. I was supported all the way until the race day and was also sent weekly motivation tips that also really kept me going.
I was very pleased with Coach Martin Gooden and certainly will recommend him. I found him to be upfront and honest, very motivating, informative and very knowledgeable in his field of expertise. Thanks Martin
