How to make sure that you drink enough water

If you fail to drink enough of the right fluids pre or post competition what ever your sporting event is.
That feeling of thirst kicks in normally when you already are less of requirements of water normally around 1.5/ 2 litres, this is normally due to sodium and chloride concentrations, but that feeling of thirst normally means that it is too late.
The trick is to drink the right fluids so you wont feel thirsty in the first place
The way how you hydrate and stay or maintain your hydration status, apart from the obvious way of drinking more, can be looked into according to your sport.
